Reflux

The past couple weeks Cooper has been crying more and more often during nursing and bottle feedings. Its frustrating for him and for us to watch because he seems hungry but cries. We started him on a bottle at three weeks and he took like a champ until a couple weeks ago. Now he just cries when Mark attempts the bottle. Nursing works better but I knew something was up. So I went to a lactation consultant a couple days ago and spent 90 minutes there. She thought Cooper was such a flirt and he was his usually smiley self! He also did a lot of babbling which he is doing more and more. She thinks he'll be an early talker. She was so helpful by providing good advice and observed a nursing session as well. She noticed that he has liquid coming up into his mouth and then he swallows to send it back down. I also explained that Cooper with start coughing like he is choking when hes not eating. She believe he has reflux and suggested we see our Pediatrician about it. We went there today and they agreed that it sounds like he has reflux. We started him on baby Zantac and we'll see if things improve. Thankfully, he is still gaining weight as normal so its not as serious as some other cases. The liquid medication is spearmint flavor and Cooper doesn't love it.
